  1. Welcome to Scraps - the Freeform Personal Information Manager
  2.  
  3. Scraps is a Personal Information Manager (PIM) for your PC.   You
  4. can  use  Scraps  to  store  all those  odd  facts  and  bits  of
  5. information  that you come across in your busy life. Scraps  will
  6. then give you rapid access to those facts when they are needed.
  7.  
  8. Scraps  is  easy  to use even if you are not  very  familar  with
  9. computer programs.  A complete manual is supplied as a text  file
  10. on this disk, the file may be printed for easier reference.
  11.  
  12. Please run the INSTALL.EXE program.  No changes will be made to 
  13. your hard disk without asking for your permission first.
  14.  
  15. INSTALL  includes an Update Installation option for use if  you 
  16. already have an older version of Scraps installed.

  20. Your manuals are up-to-date with the current version of Scraps.

  22. NOTE:  Users who make frequent use of the appointment calendar
  23. and to-do list features of Scraps will eventually notice a
  24. slow down in saving new information.  This is caused by
  25. "fragmentation" of the free space in the data file.  While not
  26. harmful this slow down can be greatly reduced by periodically
  27. running the "SCRFIX SCRAPS.DAT /F" function.  See your main manual
  28. for details on the SCRFIX utility or just run SCRFIX for a help
  29. screen.
